It is TIME to QUIT smoking NOW! Final part

Frequently Asked Question

Suppose I smoke for a while and then quit?

Smoking begins to cause damage right away and is highly addictive. Some studies have found nicotine to be as addictive as heroin, cocaine, or alcohol. It’s the most common form of drug addiction in the United States.
It’s much better to never start smoking cigarettes -- and become addicted to nicotine -- than it is to smoke with the thought of quitting later. Like alcohol, heroin, and cocaine, nicotine creates a tolerance in the body and promotes psychological dependence. This makes it much harder to quit, but with the right support it can be done.

When an ex-smoker smokes a cigarette, even years after quitting, the body reacts in the same way as it did when the person was smoking, which can cause the person to want to smoke again. Don't think you can smoke for a short while and quit when you want to; it's seldom that easy.

My advice

To smoker

Stop smoking immediately. If you think you are not able to do it, I would suggest that you put this image deep inside your mind. Imaging one day when lifting your fingers to hold the cigarette and direct it to your mouth become mission impossible after you suffer from stroke, you will be more likely to be able to do it now.

Or think of your parents, wife/husband and children, do you want them to suffer as a result of you chasing after the sensation of pleasure.

If you still not able to do it, then do visit my website at http://our.easypha-max.com/ to look for some supplement that will help to prevent some of the diseases mentioned above like cancer, osteoporosis, stroke, cardiovascular disease, erectile dysfunction, etc.

To Non-smoker

Never, ever, start smoking.
Keep yourself far away from smokers be it friends, relatives or family members that smoke.
Do not marry or get married to those who smoke.
Start advice those who smoke to stop smoking.

Comments on how to quit smoking are most welcome. Let’s safe the planet together!

It is TIME to QUIT smoking NOW! Part 6

Frequently Asked Question

Is cigarette smoking really addictive?

Yes. The nicotine in cigarette smoke causes an addiction to smoking. Nicotine is an addictive drug just like heroin and cocaine:

When taken in small amounts, nicotine creates pleasant feelings that make the smoker want to smoke more. It acts on the chemistry of the brain and central nervous system, affecting the smoker's mood.

Nicotine works very much like other addicting drugs, by flooding the brain's reward circuits with dopamine (a chemical messenger). Nicotine also gives you a little bit of adrenaline -- not enough to notice, but enough to speed up your heart and raise your blood pressure.

Nicotine reaches the brain within seconds after taking a puff, but its effects start to wear off within a few minutes. This often leads the smoker to get another cigarette. If the smoker doesn't smoke again soon, withdrawal symptoms kick in and get worse over time.

Smokers usually become dependent on nicotine and suffer physical and emotional (psychological) withdrawal symptoms when they stop smoking. These symptoms include irritability, nervousness, headaches, and trouble sleeping. The true marker for addiction, though, is that people still smoke even though they know smoking is bad for them -- affecting their lives, their health, and their families in unhealthy ways. Most people who smoke want to quit.

My advice

So, don’t risk yourself. It is very easy to kick start but extremely difficult to quit. You will be very much regretted if you ignore this advice.

Frequently Asked Question

How does smoking affect pregnant women and their babies?

Pregnant women who smoke risk the health and lives of their unborn babies. Smoking during pregnancy is linked with a greater chance of miscarriage, premature delivery, stillbirth, infant death, low birth-weight, and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Up to 5% of infant deaths could be prevented if pregnant women did not smoke.

When a pregnant woman smokes, she's smoking for two. The nicotine, carbon monoxide, and other harmful chemicals enter her bloodstream, pass directly into the baby's body, and keep it from getting vital nutrients and oxygen it needs for growth.

Breast-feeding is a good way to feed a new baby, but if the mother smokes it exposes the baby to nicotine and other poisons in the smoke through breast milk. Nicotine can cause many unwanted symptoms in the baby, such as restlessness, a rapid heartbeat, vomiting, shorter sleep times, or diarrhea.

Some research has also suggested that children whose mothers smoked while pregnant or who have been exposed to secondhand smoke, even in small amounts, may be slower learners in school. They may be shorter and smaller than children of non-smokers. They are also more likely to smoke when they get older.

My advice

Ladies, do think twice before you smoke and gentlemen do thing twice before you married a lady who smoke. It might be the starting point for your nightmare!

It is TIME to QUIT smoking NOW! Part 4

Frequently Asked Question

What are the dangers of environmental (secondhand) tobacco smoke?

Environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) is also known as secondhand smoke. Passive smoking (inhaling secondhand smoke) happens when non-smokers breathe other people’s tobacco smoke. This includes mainstream smoke (smoke that is inhaled and then exhaled into the air by smokers) and sidestream smoke (smoke that comes directly from the burning tobacco in cigarettes, pipe or cigar especially the end part of it). ETS contains the same harmful chemicals as the smoke that smokers inhale. In fact, because sidestream smoke is formed at lower temperatures, it has even larger amounts of some toxic and cancer-causing substances than mainstream smoke.

There is strong evidence that ETS causes serious damage to human health. Each year about 3,000 non-smoking adults die of lung cancer as a result of breathing secondhand smoke. ETS causes about 35,000 deaths from heart disease each year in people who are not current smokers. It can also affect non-smokers by causing asthma and other respiratory problems, eye irritation, headaches, nausea, and dizziness.

Children whose parents smoke are more likely to suffer from asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis, ear infections, coughing, wheezing, and increased mucus production. Babies of parents who smoke have a greater chance of dying of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Pregnant women exposed to ETS are at risk for having a low birth weight baby and may also be at risk for pre-term delivery and miscarriage.

Secondhand smoke is involuntarily inhaled, lingers in the air hours after cigarettes have been extinguished, and can cause a wide range of adverse health effects, including cancer, respiratory infections, and asthma. The current Surgeon General’s Report concluded that there is no risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke. Even short exposures to secondhand smoke can cause blood platelets to become stickier, damage the lining of blood vessels, decrease coronary flow velocity reserves, and reduce heart rate variability, potentially increasing the risk of heart attack.

My advice

So, non-smokers beware of those smokers, they are threatening your health, stop them from smoking for your own sake.

It is TIME to QUIT smoking NOW! Part 3

Health Risks – further elaboration
Emphysema
Cigarette smoking is also the major cause of emphysema -- a disease that slowly destroys a person's ability to breathe. Oxygen gets into the blood by moving across a large surface area in the lungs. Normally, thousands of tiny sacs make up this surface area. With emphysema, the walls between the sacs break down and create larger but fewer sacs. This decreases the lung surface area, which lowers the amount of oxygen reaching the blood. Over time, the lung surface area can become so small that a person with emphysema often must gasp for breath.

Shortness of breath (especially when lying down), a mild cough that doesn't go away (which is often dismissed as "smoker's cough"), feeling tired, and sometimes weight loss are early signs of emphysema. People with emphysema are at risk for many other problems linked to weak lung function, including pneumonia. In later stages of the disease, patients can only breathe comfortably with the help of an oxygen tube under the nose. Emphysema cannot be reversed, but it can be slowed down -- especially if the person stops smoking.

Stroke
A stroke is the rapidly developing loss of brain functions due to a disturbance in the blood vessels supplying blood to the brain. This can be due to ischemia (lack of blood supply) caused by thrombosis or embolism or due to a hemorrhage. As a result, the affected area of the brain is unable to function, leading to inability to move one or more limbs on one side of the body, inability to understand or formulate speech or inability to see one side of the visual field.
Next part will be the Question and Answers session.

It is TIME to QUIT smoking NOW! Part 2

To support my topic above, I have to quote the scariest risk to smoker so that they can stop smoking immediately after reading my blog.
Health Risks

For smokers, the specific health risks of tobacco use include:
  • nicotine addiction, decreased senses of taste and smell
  • increased fetal death and diseases, if mothers use
  • lung disease--emphysema, chronic bronchitis, lung cancer
  • coronary artery disease--angina, heart attacks
  • atherosclerotic and peripheral vascular disease--aneurysms, hypertension, blood clots, strokes
  • oral/tooth/gum diseases--including oral cancer
  • erectile dysfunction, also known as male impotence
  • Women smokers enter menopause an average of 5 years earlier than nonsmokers
  • Women who smoke are at an increased risk of osteoporosis

For nonsmokers exposed regularly to second hand smoke, the specific health risks include:

  • increased risk of lung cancer over those not exposed to smoke
  • in infants and children, an increased frequency of respiratory infections (such as bronchitis and pneumonia), asthma, and decreases in lung function as the lungs mature
  • may experience (upon exposure to smoke) acute, sudden, and occasionally severe, reactions including eye, nose, throat, and lower respiratory tract symptoms

For smokeless tobacco users the specific health risks include:

  • nicotine addiction, decreased senses of taste and smell
  • increased infant death and diseases, if mothers use
  • oral/tooth/gum diseases--including a 50 times greater risk for oral cancer with long term or regular use
  • coronary artery disease--angina, heart attacks
  • atherosclerotic and peripheral vascular disease--aneurysms, hypertension, blood clots, strokes

I will elaborate further on Emphysema and strokes in part 3.

It is TIME to QUIT smoking NOW! Part 1

I would like to start this topic with the question that I ask below.

Why do people begin to smoke?

Most people begin smoking as teens, usually because of curiosity and peer pressure. People with friends and/or parents who smoke are more likely to take up smoking than those who don't.

The tobacco industry's ads, price breaks, and other promotions for its products are another big influence in our society. The tobacco industry spends billions of dollars each year to create and market ads that show smoking as an exciting, glamorous, and healthy adult activity. Studies show that young people who see smoking in movies are more likely to start smoking.

The inhaled substances trigger chemical reactions in nerve endings in the brain due to being similar to naturally occurring substances such as endorphins and dopamines, which are associated with sensations of pleasure. The result is what is usually referred to as a "high" that ranges between the mild stimulus caused by nicotine to the intense euphoria caused by heroin, cocaine and methamphetamines.

In many respects, nicotine acts on the nervous system in a similar way to caffeine. Some writings have stated that smoking can also increase mental concentration; Repeated use produces tolerance and dependence (you're addicted and can't live without the stuff) in as little as a week! Most smokers say they enjoy smoking, which is part of the reason why many continue to do so even though they are aware of the health risks.

You are invited to post your comment as to why people begin to smoke to make this topic more interesting to be read.

The earlier session of money making methods depends very much on others to click on the advertisement that is placed in your website to enable you to earn money.

Today, I am going to disclose another method which you can control how much money that you would like to earn.

I have received a cheque recently from company that pays me for the time I spent in participating in online survey that they sent to my email address every now and then. Not much but some extra money to spend.

There are two ways that we can earn money from participating in online survey. Please refer to the answers to the frequently asked question below for more information:

Earn Money

This Company will reward us with Market Points for every online survey we complete. Unlike most companies that only enter you into sweepstakes you will never win, you'll receive money for every online survey you take, even if it turns out you are ineligible to complete the survey.
Once you reach 1,000 Market Points, you can redeem your balance for $50 U.S. dollars.

The value of Market Points is fixed against the U.S. Dollar at five (5) cents per Market Point.

The minimum number of Market Points needed to redeem is 1,000.

How many Market Points will I earn for participating in online surveys?

Each invitation will tell you how many Market Points you will earn for completing the online survey, or for participating but not qualifying for it. The number of points will vary depending on two factors: (1) the urgency of the online survey -- more urgent surveys will offer higher incentives, and (2) the length of the online survey. The more time required on your part, the larger the number of Market Points awarded.

Do I earn anything for referring a friend?

You will earn 20 Market Points every time you refer a friend. We will credit your account as soon as the person you have referred completes an online survey for the first time.

Privacy and Confidentiality

You will never receive unsolicited email as a result of joining this company. Your personal information is kept 100% confidential, and your online survey responses are anonymous and used only for the sole purpose of market research.

If you are interested in joining this company, please email to me your email address so that I can refer you to the company and earn US$1 when you complete an online survey for the first time.

Lesson Learned From Disasters

I do not know how many of us still remember the Tsunami that happen on 26/12/2004 but I am sure that everyone aware of the disasters that happen recently in Myanmar (Burma) and China.

Myanmar’s Cyclone happen on 2/5/2008 and China Earthquake happen on 12/5/2008.

Of course! all of us know that these disasters that I mentioned above have something in common.

What????

-A lot of people death, injured, missing and suffered.

-Severe damage in the country including buildings, infrastructure like communication networks and electrical towers, etc.

-Attract the attention of the whole world.

-Donation/contribution from all over the world be it charity organization, non charity organization, government, religious organization, community at large, volunteers etc.

What else????

I would like to point out another one which I think not many of us observed or ever think of. That is the date of the disaster.

What is it????????????????

All the disasters above happen after we celebrate the big day.

After Christmas – 26/12
After Labour Day – 2/5
After Mother’s Day – 12/5

What message that these disasters try to bring to us?

Normally what we do during these celebrations? Of course! celebrate with our families and people that we love.

Have you ever missed the chance to celebrate with those people whom you love most, because of the following reasons:

-You are too busy with your work, assignment, study or whatever.
-Celebrate with someone else.
-You forgot about it totally.

Some of the survivor might miss the chance to celebrate with their love before the disaster happen and missed it forever. Can you imagine how sad is it?

I think it is time for us to appreciate the chance and time that we have with our family and those people we love before it is too late, because we do not know which day is the end of our life.

We always think that we can wait until we are free or postpone to tomorrow. However, sometimes this is not the case. They just can’t wait for us even for a second.

Stress Released Made Simple

Let me share my stress release techniques with everyone.

It can be divided to three parts:

Physically

Spare some time to exercise because after we exercise our brain will release some mechanism which is acting like morphine that can help us calm down and enable us to think positively. The best exercise that I would suggest is big walk or chooses the favorite exercise that you like most.

Try to laugh every day even though you don’t feel like laughing because when we laugh our worries gone. So let us laugh out loud.

Mentally

Try to change our mindset to think positively. Some of the examples are as follows:

Everything can be settled, no matter how difficult it is.

If the problem can be solved eventually then there is no need to worry about it. If the problem can not be solved then worry also no use. The conclusion is that there is no need to worry. It is not going to help.

Don’t worry! Be Happy! Happy go lucky!

Apply a Diet Supplement

Taking food that is full of vitamin B especially niacin or B3. Lack of B3 will change a person to negative thinking, confuse, worries, unstable, forgetful and stressful.

What food is full of vitamin B3? A lot! Including liver, brewer yeast, fish, egg, meat (not fat).

Find it too troublesome to take care of your diet? Then get ready made supplement from Pharmacy. My recommendation would be St. John’s Wort from http://our.easypha-max.com

Mathematics Made Simple Part 4

Please go to Mathematics Made Simple and Mathematics Made Simple part 2 & 3 before you read this blog because this is one step further.

Another brain training session again, I do hope that everybody who have read the earlier session find it interesting and helpful.

Let’s go straight to the point without further ado.

Add 11-40. Please give me the answer immediately without having to use calculator or computer. The answer is 765. This time we have to use another formula to get the answer immediately.

Formula:

N = number of digit, in this case 30 digits
A = number of digit excluded from the calculation, ie 10 digits
T = last digits in the calculation, ie 40

N/2 (T+A+1)
= 30/2 (40+10+1)
= 15(51)
= 765

Add 45-90. Again no calculator or computer is allowed. Please give me the answer immediately. The answer is 3105. You may use the computer to test it later.

N = number of digit, in this case 46 digits.
A = number of digit excluded from the calculation, ie 44 digits
T = last digits in the calculation, ie 90

N/2 (T+A+1)
= 46/2 (90+44+1)
= 23(135)
= 3105

I create this technique after I learned the simple technique from my ex boss aged 70 when I was working for his company.

Stay tuned to this blog, if you want to challenge yourself to more difficult level of mathematics made simple in my next session.

Happy learning!

Weight Loss – Myth Part 7 and final

16) Natural or herbal weight loss products are safe and effective

Fact:

A product that claims to be “natural” or “herbal” is not necessarily safe, unless they are proven to be safe under strict quality control and extensive toxicology research. However, some herbal or other natural products may be unsafe to use with other drugs or may hurt people with certain medical conditions. Check with your doctor or other qualified health professional before using any herbal or natural weight loss product.

Thank you for your attention. Please refer to this website http://our.easypha-max.com if you are interested in slimming products that provides a nutritionally-balanced, safe, natural and healthy way to lose weight.

Let’s go straight to the point without further ado.

Add 1-10. Please give me the answer immediately without having to use calculator or computer. The answer is 55. This time we have to use a simple formula to get the answer immediately.

Formula:

N = number of digit, in this case 10 digits

N/2 (N+1)
= 10/2 (10+1)
= 5(11)
= 55

Add 1-40. Again no calculator or computer is allowed. Please give me the answer immediately. The answer is 820. You may use the computer to test it later.

N = number of digit, in this case 40 digits.

N/2 (N+1)
= 40/2 (40+1)
= 20(41)
= 820

Weight Loss – Myth Part 6

15) Going vegetarian means you are sure to lose weight and be healthier

Fact:

Vegetarian diets can be healthy because they are often low in saturated fat and cholesterol and high in fiber. Choosing a vegetarian diet with a low fat content can be helpful for weight loss. But vegetarian like non-vegetarian can also make poor food choices, like eating large amount junk (nutritionally empty) foods. Candy, chips and other high-fat vegetarian foods should be eaten in small amounts.

Vegetarian diets need to be as carefully planned as non-vegetarian diets to make sure they are nutritious. Vegetarian diets can provide the recommended daily amount of all the key nutrients if you choose food carefully.

Plants especially fruits and vegetables are main sources of nutrients in vegetarian diets. Some type of vegetarian diets (like those that include eggs and dairy foods) contain animal sources, while another type (the vegan diet) has no animal foods. Nutrient normally found in animal products that are not always found in a vegetarian diet are iron, calcium, vitamin B, Vitamin B12 and zinc.

Here are some foods that have these nutrients:

Iron: cashews, tomato juice, rice, tofu and garbanzo bean (chick peas)

Calcium: dairy products, fortified soymilk, fortified orange juice, tofu, kale and broccoli

Vitamin D: fortified milk & soy milk, and fortified cereals (or a small amount of sunlight)

Vitamin B12: eggs, dairy products, and fortified soy milk, cereals, tempeh and miso are foods made from soybeans. They are low in calories and fat and high in protein)

Zinc: whole grain (especially the germ and bran of the grain), eggs, dairy products, nuts, tofu, leafs vegetable (lettuce, spinach, cabbage) and root vegetables (onions, potatoes, carrots, celery and radishes)

Vegetarian must eat a variety of plant foods over the cause of the day to get enough protein. Those plant foods that have the most protein are lentils, tofu, nuts, seeds, tempeh, miso & peas.

Weight Loss – Myth Part 5

13) Dairy products are fattening & unhealthy

Fact:

Dairy products have many nutrients that your body needs. They have calcium to help children to grow strong bones and to keep adult bones strong and healthy. They also have vitamin D to help your body use calcium and protein to build muscles and to keep organ work properly.

Low-fat and non fat dairy products are as nutritious as whole milk dairy products, but they are lower in fat and calories. Choose low fat or non-fat milk, cheese, yogurt (frozen or regular), and reduced-fat ice cream.

For people who can’t digest lactose (a type of sugar found in milk or other dairy products), lactose-free dairy products can be used. These are also good sources of protein and calcium. If you are sensitive to some dairy food, you may still able to eat others like yogurt, hard cheese, and evaporated skim milk and butter milk. Other good sources of calcium are dark leafy vegetables (like spinach), calcium fortified juice, bread, and soy products (like tofu) and canned fish with soft bones (like salmon).

Many people are worried about eating butter and margarine. Eating a lot of food high in saturated fat (like butter) has been linked to high blood cholesterol levels and greater risk of heart disease. Some research suggests that high amounts of “trans fat” can also cause high blood cholesterol level. Trans fat is found in margarine, crackers, cookies and other snack foods made with hydrogenated vegetable shortening or oil. Trans fat is formed when vegetables oils are harden to become margarine or shortening, a process called hydrogenation. More research is needed to find out the effect of trans fat in the food. Carbohydrate and protein have about four calories per gram and fat has more than twice that amount (9 calories per gram).

14) Low fat or no fat means no calories

Fact:

Remember that most fruits and vegetables are naturally low in fat and calories. Other low fat or non fat foods may still have a lot of calories, often these foods will have extra sugars, flour or starch thickeners to make them taste better. These ingredients can add calories, which can lead to weight gain.

A low fat or non fat food is usually lower in calories than the same size portion of the full fat product. The number of calories depends on the amount of carbohydrate, protein, and fat in the food. Carbohydrate and protein have about four calories per gram and fat has more than twice that amount (9 calories per gram).

Weight Loss – Myth Part 4

10) Starches are fattening and should be limited when trying to lose weight

Fact:

Potatoes, rice, pasta, bread, beans and some vegetables (like squash, yam, sweet potatoes, turnips, beets and carrots) are rich in complex carbohydrates (also called starch). Starch is an important source of energy for body. Foods high in starch can be low in fat and calories unless you eat them with large amounts or they are made with rich sauces, oils or other high fat toppings like butter, sour cream, or mayonnaise.

Try to avoid high-fat topping and choose starchy foods that are high in fiber, like whole grains, beans and peas.

11) Fast foods are always an unhealthy choice and you should not eat them when dieting

Fact:

Fast food can be part of a healthy weight-loss program with a little bit of know-how. Choose salads and grilled foods instead of fried foods, which are high in fat and calories. Small amounts of high-fat, high calories toppings, like full fat mayonnaise and salad dressing are allowed.

Eating fried fast food like French fries or other high-fat foods like chocolate once in a while as a special treat is fine but try to split an order with a friend or order a small portion. In small amounts, these foods can still be part of a healthy eating plan.

12) High protein or low carbohydrate diets are healthy way to lose weight

Fact:

A high protein or low carbohydrate diet provides most of your calories each day from protein foods (like meat, eggs and cheese) and few calories from carbohydrate foods (like breads, pasta, potatoes, fruits and vegetables). People often get bored with these diets because they crave the plant based foods they are not allowed to have or can have only in very small amounts. These diets often lack key nutrients found in carbohydrate foods.

Many of these diets allow a lot of food high in fat, like bacon and cheese. High fat diets can raise blood cholesterol levels, which increase a person’s risk of heart disease and certain cancers.

High protein or low carbohydrate diet may cause rapid weight loss but most of it is water weight and lean muscle mass not fat. You lose water because your kidneys try to get rid of the excess waste products of protein and fat, called ketones that your body makes. This is not a healthy way to lose weight! It overworks your kidneys and can cause dehydration, headache and bad breath. It can also make you feel nervous, tired, weak and dizzy. A buildup of ketones in your blood (called ketosis) can cause your blood to produce high level of uric acid, which is a risk factor for gout ( a painful swelling of the joints) an kidney stones; Ketosis can be very risky for pregnant women and people with diabetes.

By following a reduced calories diet that is well-balanced between carbohydrate, protein and fats, you will still lose weight without hurting your body. You will also be more likely to keep the weight off.

Weight Loss – Myth Part 3

6) Nuts are fattening and you should not eat them if you want to lose weight

Fact:

Although high in calories and fats, most (but not all) types of nuts have low amount of saturated fat. Saturated fat is the kind of fat that can lead to high blood cholesterol level and increase the risk of heart disease.

Nuts are a good source of protein and fiber and they do not have any cholesterol, in small amount, nuts can be part of a healthy weight loss program.

7) Eating red meat is bad for your health and will make it harder to lose weight

Fact:

Red meat, pork, chicken and fish contain some saturated fat and cholesterol. But they also have nutrients that are important for good health, like protein, iron and zinc. Eating lean meat (meat without a lot of visible fat) in a small amount can be part of a healthy weight loss plan. A serving size is two to three ounces of cooked meat, which Is about the size of a deck of cards.

Choose cuts of meat that are lower in fat such as beef eye of the round, top round and pork tenderloin and trim any extra fat before cooking.

8) Fresh fruits & vegetables are more nutritious than frozen or canned

Fact:

Most fruits & vegetables (produced) are naturally low in fat & calories. Frozen and canned fruits and vegetables can be just nutritious as fresh. Frozen or canned produce is often packaged right after it has been picked which helps keep most of its nutrients. Fresh produce can sometimes lose nutrients after being exposed to light or air. Avoid canned fruits and vegetables with high content of acidity or sugary condition.

9) Fish has no fat or cholesterol

Fact:

Although all fish has some fat and cholesterol, most fish is lower in saturated fat and cholesterol than beef, pork, chicken and turkey.

Fish is a good source of protein. Types of fish that are high in fat (like salmon, mackerel, sardine, herring and anchovies) are rich in omega 3 fatty acids. Theses fatty acids are being studied because they may be linked to a low risk of heart disease.
Grilled, baked or broiled fish (instead of fried) can be part of a healthy weight loss plan.

Weight Loss – Myth Part 2

3) I can lose weight while eating anything I want

Fact:

This statement is not always true. It is possible to eat any kind of food you want and lose weight but you still need to limit the number of calories that you eat each day, usually by eating smaller amounts of food.

When trying to lose weight, you can eat your favorite food as long as you pay attention to the total amount of food that you eat. You need to use more calories than you eat to lose weight.

4) Eating after 8 p.m. causes weight gain

Fact:

It doesn’t matter what time of day you eat. It is how much you eat during the whole day and how much you get that make you gain or lose weight. No matter when you eat your meals, your body wills stores extra calories as fat.

If you want to have a snack before bedtime, make sure you first think about how many calories you have already eaten that day, try not to snack while doing other things like watching TV program, playing video games or surfing internet. If you eat meals and snacks in the kitchen or dining room, you are less likely to be distracted and more likely to aware of what and how much you are eating. If you want to snack while watching TV program, take a small amount of food like a handful of pretzels or a couple of cookies, not the whole bag.

5) Certain fruits like grapefruit, celery, or cabbage soup can burn fat and make you lose weight

Fact:

No food can burn fat. Some food with caffeine may speed up your metabolism (the way your body uses energy or calories) for a short time, but they do not cause weight loss.

The best way to lose weight is to cut back on the number of calories you eat and be more physically active.

Weight Loss – Myth

1) Fad diets work for permanent weight loss

Fact:

Fad diets are not the best ways to lose weight and keep it off. These eating plans often promise to help you lose a lot of weight quickly, or tell you to cut certain foods out of your diet to lose weight. Although you may lose weight at first while on these kinds of diets, they can be unhealthy because they often keep you from getting all the nutrients that your body needs. Fad diets may seriously limit or forbid certain types of food, so most people quickly get tired of them and regain the lost weight.

Research suggests that losing half to two pounds a week by eating better and exercising more is the best way to lose weight and keep it off. By improving your eating and exercise habits, you will develop a healthier lifestyle and control your weight. You will also reduce your chances of developing heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes.

2) Skipping meals is a good way to lose weight

Fact:

Your body needs a certain amount of calories and nutrients each day in order to function properly. If you skip your meals during the day, you will be more likely to make up for those missing calories by snacking or eating more at the next meal.

Studies show that people who skip breakfast tend to be heavier than those who eat a nutritious breakfast.

A healthier way to lose weight is to eat many small meals throughout the day that include a variety of nutritious, low fat and low calories food.

Those people who chew the food thoroughly and eat slowly tend to be more successful in losing weight.

Mathematics Made Simple Part 2

Please go to Mathematics Made Simple before you read this blog because this is one step further.

Today I am going to share some simple mathematics to keep on training our brain so that it works properly even though in our age of 100. Believe me or not?

Let’s go

How much is 12,345,678 plus 87,654,321? Please give me the answer immediately without having to use calculator or paper. The answer is 99,999,999

Proof:

12,345,678
87,654,321
-----------
99,999,999
========

How to answer instantly depend on your memory by training! Training! Training!

I learned this simple mathematics from one of the standard two students.

Here comes difficult one! My own creation!

How much is 31 X 31 again no calculator is allowed. The answer is 961

Let me show you how.

Step 1- last digit is always 1
Step 2- take 3 + 3 = 6
Step 3- take 3 X 3 = 9

The results is 961

Another one says 91 X 91

Step 1- last digit is always 1
Step 2- take 9 + 9 = 18 but only take the 2nd digit
Step 3- take (9 X 9) + 1(taken from 1st digit in step 2) = 82

The results is 8281

Sound difficult? Try as many as you can and you will become expert.

Happy learning!

Mathematics Made Simple

Nowadays people do not like to use their brain to calculate, to remember phone number, to remember meeting or appointment but rely on computer, hand phone, calculator, etc., and therefore our memory start getting worst and worst.

People start saying that their memories are no good, in actual fact that is not true, the reason is because they did not train their brain.

I used to calculate using my brain and sometime I am faster than those people who use high technology products because they need to do few things before they can start using the high technology products. My mind however thinks instantly.

If you ask me how much is 95 X 95 I can tell you the answer immediately without using a calculator. The answer is 9025. Check by using your calculator if you don’t trust me.

How can I do that? very simple, train our minds and apply the correct technique.

Let me show you how.

Step 1- take 5 X 5=25
Step 2- take 9 X (9+1) =90

The results is 9025

Another example says 45 X 45

Step 1- take 5 X 5=25
Step 2- take 4 X (4+1) =20

The results is 2025

I learned this technique from my teacher when I was in primary school and I would like to share it with everybody before I forgot.

Happy learning!

Save Money Made Simple

Everybody complaining that money is not enough for their spending.

I would like to share one of my best ways of saving money especially for those who like shopping during grand sales.

It is very simple and everybody can make it.

Before I buy anything, I will ask myself one simple question.

If I want to buy shirt for example, I will ask myself, do you think that you do not have any shirt to wear tomorrow if you don’t buy this shirt. The answer to this question is normally “No” and therefore I did not buy it even though it is very cheap after discount because cheap doesn’t mean free.

Most of the time we buy too many things that we don’t need but we want it at that time and later on we found out that it is no use and we try to get rid of it.

Our needs are limited but there is no limit if we want everything that we feel like having it.

In conclusion “Need is not equal to Wants”

Hope this sharing helps you to save a lot.

Turn Grey Hair to Normal and Prevent Hair Loss

I have grey hair since I was 15, but I don’t mind because my father has grey hair in his very young age too.

When I was 23, I noticed that my antibody is very weak, whoever sick will infect me and I took longer time to recover as compare to others.

I start looking for ways to improve my health. One day I drop in a bookshop and coincidently attracted by a book regarding health. I was convinced and I bought the book and start reading and changing my eating habit according to the book and observe my improvement.

I start drinking fresh carrot fruit juice without sugar every day because it contains a lot of vitamin A which is good for skin. Not long after that my colleagues noticed that my skin turn yellow especially my face. They advised me to see doctor because they are afraid that I have jaundice.

I went to see doctor, only then I know that carrot and papaya will turn our skin to yellowish, but that is no harm to the body, once we stop it our skin will back to normal again. That teach me a lesson that we should not take too much of the same food even though it is good for the health otherwise the reverse will happen.

Anyhow, my skin become smooth, and I continue with some vitamins and mineral supplements (emphasize on natural source) and I become healthier and do not fall sick easily and even if I sick, I recovered very fast.

Half year later, my colleagues and friends noticed that my hair is darker and they start asking me what food or supplement that I have taken. In fact I myself don’t know which food supplements gave me this result. I read the book again, this is what I normally do when I discovered something new.

The answer is brewer yeast powder, a very good source of vitamin B complex. However, not all the brand gave the same results. The brand that I bought is rich in PABA, biotin, folic acid, pantothenic acid and inositol. Inositol prevents hair loss. I keep taking this vitamin for 7 years.

I said that because when this brand stops selling my grey hair start again even though I consume another brand.

The main purpose that I took brewer yeast powder is to lose weight but it gave me unexpected result. I did not lose weight but I lose grey hair.

Recently another supplement gave me the same result. Procan, a traditional Chinese herb that process using bio-technology and is tailor made according to our blood type.
